Vacuum conveying is preferred if the system holds a moderate pipe length - thus providing a minor pressure drop (i.e. below 0.5 bar), one or more intake points, and only one discharge point. |

Pressure conveying - when the distance is too long for vacuum conveying (i.e. pressure drop in excess of 0.5 bar), or in case of only one intake point and a number of discharge points. |
